Shandong ● 山东

Yeah, China again.
Try to keep this short but I think I know it will still be long.

Day 1 - Christmas Day (KL-Tianjin-Qingdao)
The flight from KL to Tianjin took 6 hours. Then train which is slower than expected took 5 hours.
Arrived at Qingdao at about 11pm and had McD for supper. Instant noodle as dinner.

Just got out of airport otw to the bus already have a red nose like Rudolph

Both are images of frozen river

Random cross on the sky

Train ticket. 225 yuan. At least the seats are more comfy than the plane.

Yangliuqing train station.

China's McD is selling Hello Kitty.

They have 4 types in total. The one in red is the cutest for me and that is sold out. BUTTT they have the one on the counter and some others hanging around as deco. Last day of promotion and almost midnight but the person is not willing to sell it =.="

Day 2 (Qingdao)

The seaview from the first night hotelroom. The sea that connects me and Korea. LOL

Laoshan (崂山)

Weirdly shaped 'fruits'

Tsingtao Brewery

This is actually quite dangerous

The strong winds got kinda annoying so, tied up my hair

8 hours beer. They said it tastes the best

Qingdao Olympic Sailing Centre

Badaguan(八大关) Scenic Spot

I love those 'naked' trees.

Mr. Crabby
I seriously hate the pants.

小鱼山

The cylindrical building with a revolving restaurant on top is the hotel I stayed in.

Symbol of the hill

The setting sun hidden behind tall buildings

Day 3 (Qingdao-Weihai-Yantai)

On the way to Weihai

We missed the snow

Snow-covered frozen river

劉公岛(Liugongdao)

5 peoples to move the snow

Looks so FAT here

The hotelroom

The wall that separates the bathroom from the room has a window

Day 4 (Yantai-Penglai-Weifang)
Yantai is the city nearest to S. Korea.
Started snowing early in the morning. When we came downstairs to have breakfast the ground is already covered by a thin layer of snow.

As the wind becomes stronger and it snows more

Doesn't take long to turn all white

Leaving the hotel. Luckily the snow isn't heavy enough to disrupt our schedule. Only slightly delayed.

Traffic lights not working + slippery road = accidents

Snowflakes accumulated at the window of the bus

Changyu Wine Museum

Huge wine barrel in the cellar which can filll up to 15 000L

煙台山(Yantaishan)

Don't remember what's so funny to make us laugh like that

All of them are paper-cuttings. The spotlight should be on the middle one.

蓬莱阁(Penglaige)
This place is very windy and cold. It's by the sea.

八仙

Part of an ancient naval vessel from Yuan Dynasty

Sacrificial Horse Pit
Took a photo of the skeletons of the sacrificial horses but deleted. Don't want the spirits to follow me.
The sacrificial horses are supposed to surround the Mausoleum of the King of Qi State.

The entrance

The only photo I found on the internet

That day was one of the aunty's bday. So, a cake....

I missed the creams on the cakes we used to have before Secret Recipe and whatever.

The long candles. >.<>
Koreans used that tooㅋㅋㅋ

I know I mention Korea and Koreans many times when this is a post bout China. What to do when you have a korean-obsessed person writing this post.

Day 6 (Zibo-Taian-Qufu-Taian) Qufu is the hometown of Confucius. Supposed to come here on Day 7 but Day 6 schedule have to be put on hold because the wind on Taishan is too strong and the cable car service up the mountain was cancelled. Due to a switch in schedule and lack of time, we didn't visit Confucius's tomb.

孔庙(Kongmiao)-Temple of Confucius

The place where Confucius teach his disciples

Beautiful pillars

孔府(Kongfu)-Confucius Mansion
It's huge inside.

Exactly what we need in this cold weather. The soup is supposed to be beef soup. Since most of us don't take beef, plain water. Sad.

3 colour noodles

The hotel

Everything bout this hotel is so NEW - the air smells new, the water tastes new(I'm serious)- because it's new. The hotel has only opened for business for 2 WEEKS!

From my parents' room can look straight into the lobby

Day 7 (Taian-Jinan)

The water left overnight in the bus is frozen.

泰山(Taishan)

Frozen waterfall

This place is very very cold.

The view at the back is so amazing

Blow the printer with a hairdryer so that it continue functioning

The stairs are so steep and never ending. Looking down it turns your leg into jelly.

大明湖(Daminghu)

Day 8 - New Year Day (Jinan-Tianjin-KL)
The train departs at 7.05am. Imagine what time we have to wake up. Fortunately our hotel is not far from the train station.
Takes approx. 3 hours by train from Jinan to Tianjin.

Arrived at Yangliuqing station to be greeted by this flight of stairs. Great. Just what we need. Dragged and carried the luggage up the stairs and down again on the other side of the platform. My right arm was sore for the next 2 days.

南市食品街(Nanshishipinjie)

麻花. Huge ones.

天津狗不理包子(Tianjin Gou Bu Li Baozi). Not bad.

These are not foods. haha. Poor fishy.

Making ginger candy

Lots of people fishing in the frozen river

The reason why I wear the earmuffs so often although sometimes it's not necessary is b'cos it keeps my hair from flying everywhere.
